I paint with acrylic and oils on canvas as well as acrylic on acrylic panels and glass. Painting on Glass is a reverse process -beginning with the artists signature, (signed backwards) the highlights and closest images are painted first then I work back to the farthest objects or background. The image is also viewed in the opposite way (mirror image) that it was painted. " I find it challenging as well as exciting to paint this way, once a brushstroke is put down it cannot be painted over". The finished work becomes luminescent, rich and vibrant. My work ranges from bold, colorful, abstracted figures full of emotion and gesture, to linear playful renditions of daily activities.

I received one year of private oil
painting lessons with a renowned local artist Lucille Mars when I was 11 years old and spent my teenage years painting in the
traditional old masters style painting landscapes, flora and
portraits. It was in my late
teens when I began experimenting with my own style, going
through my own dark, "blue" period which lasted 10 years. In my
early 30's my work became brighter, colorful and whimsical which
evolved into the style I use today. I now paint on glass more frequently
than canvas. My work is still colorful and bold but
has more depth, emotion and freedom. _______________________________________ |
